EYO Ambassadors
EYO Ambassadors is a refreshed programme piloting in 2026 for senior players in EYO’s Symphony Orchestra and our recent EYO alumni.
The programme is designed for musicians who are interested in teaching, mentoring and developing workshop-leading skills, while gaining hands-on experience supporting younger players.
Being an EYO Ambassador is a paid role and includes training, practical experience and reflective evaluation. Read on to find out more and click the link to apply.

Who Can Apply?
You are eligible to apply if you are:
A 2026 EYO Symphony Orchestra member or a recent EYO alumnus
Aged 18 or over
And studying music (or with music as a substantial part of your course) at university or conservatoire or similar
What Does the Role Involve?
EYO Ambassadors support EYO’s activities by working alongside tutors and support staff on the Ensembles Course, developing leadership skills and gaining experience in music education settings.
The role includes:
Two online training sessions during March and early April
Participation in the EYO Ensembles Course between 16-19 April at George Watson’s College, Edinburgh (c.9.15am-4.30pm daily)
Reflection and evaluation following the course

Stage 1:

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an online conversation with a member of the EYO team.
There are five Ambassador places available in 2026.
Further Information
Ambassadors receive a bursary of £100 per day (£400 total)
Additional support for travel costs is available for those travelling from outside Edinburgh as needed
