Maximiliano Martín

Maximiliano Martín has rapidly established himself as one of the most exciting and charismatic musicians of his generation. He enjoys a multi-faceted career as soloist, chamber musician and as Principal Clarinet of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

As a soloist he has performed with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta Real Filarmonía de Galicia, Orquesta Filarmónica de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, Durban Philharmonic and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra with conductors such as Brüggen, Emelyanychev, Ticciati, Manze, Antonini, Swensen, Zacharias and González.

He performs regularly with ensembles and artists such as London Conchord Ensemble, Maxwell and Casals String Quartets, Francois Leleux, Pekka Kuusisto, Alexander Janiczek, Llŷr Williams, Scott Mitchell and Julian Milford.

Martín is in constant demand as Principal Guest Clarinet with many of the world's leading orchestras including the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, London Symphony Orchestra, Hallé, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, the Liverpool Philharmonic and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra. Martín was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE) and theGustav Mahler Jugendorchester.

Martín is also active in the field of education, giving masterclasses at the Royal College of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, UC Davis University in San Francisco and Malmö Academy of Music in Sweden. Martín is Honorary Professor of Woodwind at the University of St Andrews and was visiting Professor of Clarinet at the University of Kangnam in Seoul, South Korea.

Martín is one of the Artistic Directors of the Chamber Music Festival of La Villa de la Orotava held every year in his home town.
