Kate Whitlock

Kate spent twelve years as an arts administrator across organisations as diverse as Aldeburgh Music (now Britten Pears Arts), the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Edinburgh International Festival, moving on to a rich and varied freelance career in concert and project management and event production for clients including the East Neuk Festival, the Cumnock Tryst, St Andrews Voices, Live Music Now Scotland and Hebrides Ensemble. From 2017-2021 she was director of the Scottish Schools Orchestra Trust, running its programme of non-auditioned orchestral activities for 8-15 year olds.

In 2022 she began her chartered accountancy training at RSM UK, where she is now an assistant manager building a specialism in accounts preparation and support for charities and trusts.

Kate lives in Edinburgh with her husband, daughter, and very large rescue dog. She is a keen amateur violinist and singer, and spent many of her formative years as a member of the Ealing Youth Orchestra in London, which sparked her lifelong love of music. She is delighted to be playing a small part in giving similar opportunities to young people in Scotland through her role at Edinburgh Youth Orchestra.
